Sharma's Song

Our garden perimeters are hung with notes A thrush sings its morning songs. No other of its kind dares cross these musical borders of trilling notes Would that we - could defend our boundaries with songs instead of bombs. Suzanne Delaney

Hi Tim: Nice to see you and thanks for reading. Little Natural History and Nature Study here. We have Sharma Thrushes in our garden. They have an incredible whistling call and they make a clicking sound to mark their territory. I think they were introduced from India to Hawaii as a caged bird but are prolific outside now. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/White-rumped_shama

Wow ... didn't see that end coming. What a hard-hitting short poem, Suz. We can celebrate our differences with music and dance ... but bombs are a sign that we still don't understand one another. Reminiscent of Isaiah 2:4, with your call for peace. I'm curious about the story behind Sharma ... someone you know?
