Shadows of the Past

Walking through these shadows of the past, to be held in such dismay, these shadows that leave me aghast. A life that has been left behind, her love, her beauty, what a jewel, such a find. Never looking back, no regrets, she pulls me through, against all odds, against all bets. Walking away from these shadows of the past, I turn and say, free from these shadows, free at last. Broken hearts have collided, we come together, this life, our love, will never be one sided.
