Shades to life

Ghost thoughts dance in my still world
Friends to a hermit, standing at the edge of truth
Revelling in life that’s blooming to its duality
Saying goodbyes to the ‘good’ and the ‘bad’

Truth’s deceit that shaped religions and lives
Veiled in dark mystery, lost and forgotten
Saints lampooned desires that could never be had
While territorial Sin continued her eternal lure

And the righteous believe this life is theirs
Their good, their charity, their Samaritan taint
Everyone is born in sin, my religion says
But now my ghosts tell me that’s the illusive plot

Love would be the only truth that holds
Though it got twisted right at Eve’s lap
Every soul wanders looking for something
As another womb births hard into the waiting deceit…

This is going to be a good week, I only have to work 3 days. We have also been having sunny weather so all in all not much to complain about. I'm curious what was going through your mind when you wrote this one? There seems to be a multitude of layers an imagery within this piece. Is the Ghost the Holy Spirit?

Oh that's cool, have a good time, you guys. The Holy spirit? not quite, Richard.. I don't know too much about religions, my faith is all in something innate that we are always responding to? that space from where we function, and avoid judging or harming or hurting, where the line between 'the right' and 'the wrong' is clearer and better, less restrictive and all of that.. oh, i could go on...

You are right all are born in sin and on our own we are incapable of escaping it's grasp. Listen for the sound of a quiet knock at your door. He will not force his way in, he patiently waits for you to welcome him in.

Insightful and inspiring. We are all born in sin, but we are also all born with the capacity to love which is more powerful than sin.

Very insightful write, Bindu. Yes, we are ALL born in sin, but there is hope...In the end, there is only one God, we are all His children...though adhering to different beliefs and dogmas. I just am grateful that He is compassionate and merciful to love it dispite our limited understanding of Him...Very well written...Your last line...WOW! :) Hugs
