Separated

I can hear my heart pound steadily Pushing warmth into my limbs My skin pin pricks in the cold night I am burning in a cold fire I've never felt more alive It's different to be like this to be separated from everything else I do not have to hear the thrumming of the earth I can be alive without being connected to it Its dark, my life has always been dark except for that warmth that soaked into my body feeding me energy Almost every day it game first gently brushing the earth with its tips And then in longer steadier waves with its coming so came the word into my mind light - I do not feel this light now.
