Squirrel roadkill flattened by unheeding wheels No! He escaped!! A note to readers: The squirrel escaped and wasn't flattened into roadkill. My apologies for my lack of clarity.

Well... I guess I wasn't as clear as I should have been. The squirrel escaped, and wasn't flattened. I'm going to add a note to that effect. Jack

I've had it happen many times, an unavoidable squirrelicide, only to see it run from under my car to freedom - he escaped! Oh no... I feel guilty for weeks afterwards.
