I’ll stay away… from what brings pain What makes tears fall like acid rain I’ll stay away… from what is fake What makes my heart about to break I’ll stay away…. From a false friend Who makes my hope Reach bitter end I’ll stay away… From selfish quest What makes me lose What I love best I’ll stay away…. From hurtful write That plunges soul In darkest night I’ll stay away… From words untrue What gives false love In shaded hue ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* I’ll stay close to… what brings me life What makes my heart Free from all strife I’ll stay close to… What feeds my soul What makes my heart Feel light and whole I’ll stay close to…. What brings delight What brings me joy In darkest night I’ll stay close to….. What I adore What feeds me heart Has love in store I’ll stay close to…. What's good and true And so I’ll stay Right close to you. Eileen Manassian People have different tolerance levels for pain. I have a very low threshold. Fragile and brittle...I break easily, and sometimes the repair work takes forever. Thus, I have found that it's best to stay away from potential heartache and pain. Sometimes we torture ourselves by reading or listening to things that will just drive that nail in deeper into our hearts. Why? That is self torture. There is enough pain in life to bring us down. We don't need to make it worse. So...sometimes keeping a distance is best. Not out of hate....it could be disappointed love...unmet expectations...previous painful experiences....or it could just be called....SELF PRESERVATION. Thanks for reading!

My dear enchantress if life were but so easy. You write so beautifully and your words weave their spell, but this time I cannot agree. The world is a grey place filled with terrible things an terrible people, but there are also some things and some people who shine. You cannot find the light of love and true friendship by cacooning yourself from the greyness you have to accept the good with the bad and try to hang onto sanity, not an easy thing to do. :) Hello, Shane. So good to see you again....That blue fish...DORY...makes my heart happy. :) Well, ultimately, we know how much we can take, Shane. We cannot hope in a hopeless situation. That can bring insanity. Yes, the rose has its thorns, but if all you do is get pricked by every single one, better look for tulips. ;) Oh...I'm being silly. Thanks for the lovely post and visit. Despite being hurt on occasion Over my life I would say overall the good stuff has outweighed the heart break. As for our friendship you are an easy friend to care for.

There are people I would go through pain for....I would do what it takes the keep the friendship going because it matters. But...in the end...self needs to survive. If something brings more pain than happiness....one needs to question one's sanity for holding on....

A wise life traveler . . . reading the signs, testing the air, watching and alert . . . travelling light ready for love and adventure . . . yes, detours when they happen from life storms. Self preservation is a travelers life line. Travel well LO

Thanks, David. You know me well. I appreciate your visits and kind words to me. Thank you so much. I am fiercely loyal to those whom I know love me truly...I will take pain for them...but other than that....I don't need extra pain. Staying away is better....hugs

Eileen..Yes there is so much pain in life,some of which We can't erase..But yes I agree with you..some pain We can avoid.Stay close to what makes you positive and whatbrings joy to youf heart sweet lady.I find much joy and peace with only on at times.He is the only one who would never hurt me ,with or without acknowledging it..Yes that is God..The only one who is truly crazyabout me just the way I am. You are a sweet friend..and Ican understand your heart.

Many live by that philosophy and live a great life...I don't like heartache or pain but I will give people the benefit of the doubt. Sure I've been hurt this way but if we never feel pain and heartache we will never fully feel the euphoria of love.....hugs Tim

No....it isn't. Sometimes it's the ones whom we love most who cause us the greatest pain. Reminds me of a song by Michael Card..."why did it have to be a friend who chose to betray the Lord. Why did he use a kiss to tell them, that's not what a kiss is for. Only a friend can betray a friend. A stranger has nothing to gain, and only a friend comes close enough to every cause so much pain." :( Ah...enough said. Hugs
