Second Life

I fade way,
to a world that no one knows.
I am someone different,
created to be unknown.
Though this place becomes my captor,
and this life destroys my soul,
I am engulfed in its fantasy,
the dreams that never show.
Killing me,
destroying me,
this life is burying me,
taking every moment,
never letting go.
Chained to my thoughts,
my ways warped into nonsense,
never letting the people around me
know how it controls.
I think for a moment
that I am free in this world,
till my mind becomes hopeless,
and everyone seeks to destroy.
How I sit here all alone,
this second life being the unknown,
wondering if I can unwind my soul,
be free of these ways that imprison me whole.
