On Halloween, while in the old wood crossing,
The deathly silence broken by raven’s cry.
The moon was briefly blocked by a cloud passing,
While I froze as something snapped a branch nearby.
An old tom cat screamed and ran across my path,
As a laden bag of candy slipped my grasp.
Please, please! Out of the backyard woods I stumbled
And to the safety of my home I tumbled.
