Say Goodbye To Summer

Say Goodbye to Summer By Franklin Price 9/22/2016 Say goodbye to Summer Fall is in the air The hottest days are gone The temperature is fair Animals preparing For the winter soon to come Gathering food for when the snow falls Nature did not make them dumb Cool breezes gently blowing Changing leaves appear on trees A myriad of autumn colors Will soon be here for all to see Halloween will roll around Ghosts and goblins on our street Coming 'round extorting candy Yelling their favorite, “ trick or treat” When the trees are foliage bare New scenery we will view Is that an old house that I see Or is it one that's new High upon the mountains Looking down through the leafless limbs Are valley views not summer seen As the sunlight sooner dims Won't be long until fall's over And myself and lovely spouse In retirement, weather winter In the warmness of our house

This is a most enjoyable read, Franklin. I do hope it is cooler when you are, we're still in the high 90's down here in the south. 95 yesterday!

Daniel, thanks for stopping by and for your nice comment. It's still getting to the middle 80's here but it's very nice at night and early morning.
