My friend’s father died today No idea, what to say I imagine what she feels Through her words, this man is real ‘My Da passed away this morning……………….’ My thoughts are sitting with her, mourning………………: (

Beautiful free verse. No matter how many wakes I go to, I still never know what to say. "I'm sorry for your loss" seems such a cliche. Keep writing!

I can empathize - I lost my father this past year, also. Doesn't matter how old you are or how old they are - a parent's passing requires friends to help you get by. Nice write, David.
