Remembering Her
Oh ! how I wish you could come back again.
Thy smiling face of divine charm,
Thy moist eyes of ocean blue,
Thy dark hair , that the air brushed,
And the modesty He bestowed on you.
The days we spent , of golden past,
Down the valley , on the lush green grass,
Through the dense wood on mother's lap,
The run through the meadow and a walk by the brook,
Oh ! the horse ride with our little gay cap.
The days have passed , the years have flown,
All the fun seems a mere oblivion.
Thy soul that rests knows no pain,
and I , the black sheep , in the savage ,left all alone.
Oh ! I wish you could come back again.
