Reality

I have lived my life—reaching out. Asking !! Seeking!! Breaching dark corners of twisted truth. Truth is a lonely place. I put on my face and greet the morning. It knows that I pretend……. but there is comfort in the doing; though I accomplish little. Who am I? I wonder….. as I face myself. The answer? Always a little further down the road. Always a few steps out of reach. But, I try, with palm open and ready for the grasp. My mind is focused in complete anticipation. I open myself. Vulnerable to the elements, I am completely cognizant of the faintest hushed rebuke. It comes and I recluse myself… to the dark place…of my disappointment, floating on the thick funk surrounding me. Such is life, I muse. Such is the enemy of my determination. But the will to succeed is sown- - -with new mettle. The power to overcome grows exponentially as sinews of determination intertwine, and I shall win, in the end. 8/5/2015 Charles Henderson
