Rain and More Rain
The March rains that saturated April
Have continued with a fervor through sweet May.
Lovely June is carrying an umbrella
As she waits at the corner for entree.
The cloudy skies continue pouring water
On fields that cannot hold another drop.
The farmers changing plans for early seeding
Are fearing this is year without a crop.
Spring rains should be gentle and refreshing
And only coming when there is a need.
We have been having rains so overwhelming,
Even water loving ducks must take some heed.
