Quick Thought, Quick Sonnet
Quick thought this morning, can I bring it back?
It seems the aches and pains that age proclaims
like those of an old car put up on the rack
for the last time and the mechanic explains
that this is the last time he wants to deal
with it, because parts are not available
as they once were and perhaps you might feel
better served by new if you are able,
instead of all the duct tape and band aids
used to hold all this together and that
it might be better before the model fades
to abandon it like an old hat.
Perhaps that is what death is all about,
a body lost without a second thought.
