Pretty Rose

Pretty rose, stands in thy garden I wanted it so much! Pretty rose, but not alone. . . I gave a simple touch Pretty rose, has pricked my finger now I'm left here to bleed Pretty rose, your thorns are sharp- Is it worth the love I need?

Outstanding! This sums up many of life's problems, the rose as metaphor. Congrats on the selection. daver

I've always liked daffodils. They're not finicky at all. You just bury the bulb in the ground and up it comes each spring...so loyal. You can pick them by the bunches...no tricks up their sleeves. I say lower your standards to daffodils. :)

Love always seems to come with some thorns, Dana'lynn. We have to decide if we are ready to handle the pain before we enter any relationship. Few are pain-free. An insightful poem! Love, Carolyn

I think "yes" Dana. The sight of a pretty rose is worth a finger pricking. Good one. Charles

There are so many who use that thorn as a coping skill. WE need less liberals on the benches and more vigilantes in the street. Pretty write. God Bless. Vince
