Phoenix
I became the mighty phoenix
When my life was set ablaze;
Rising from the endless ashes
Of broken burdened days
I spread my blazing golden wings,
Soared into the open air,
Cast aside my repulsive end
And promptly left it where
No longer could it trouble me.
Far beyond it I had flown
Above the earth and waning moon
To places of my own;
Places like the blistering sun
Where my life began anew
With fevered hope and untouched dreams
Of all that I could do.
