Peace and Freedom

A Blitz Dedicated to Debbie, our main "Hat Man" Ruben, and Mr. Keim

Peace and Freedom

love and war
love and peace

peace that cries
peace that lies

lies often told
lies become beliefs

beliefs that scream
beliefs that scheme

schemes of hate
schemes grown

grown in our youth
grown in innocent hearts

hearts so young
hearts watered with tears

tears that don't tell
tears that don't know

know the truth
know why

why we're selfish
why close our eyes

eyes that can see
eyes wish to believe

believe in good
believe in hope

hope needs faith
hope prays

prays for love
prays for salvation

salvation waits
salvation asks

asks why
asks to try

try love
try compassion

compassion hugs
compassion warms

warms the soul
warms the heart

heart of life
heart that beats

beats within
beats always

always the goal
always the quest

quest for peace
quest for freedom

freedom makes us strong
freedom helps us grow

I love the fact that your Blitz accomplishes the rapid fire delivery that is the hallmark of this form. BTW it is "Keim" without the "l"..... :-)

I was skeptical of this form until now. After reading your fine write I find that I am inclined to try it maybe this week. You did it so well, so smoothly and put in a great message too!

this is the third one of these I've read in the last couple of days each one I find intriguing, they all look like they take a lot of thought and work...I applaud you and the other poets who have tired this form

:-) I challenge you to have a go, Frederic. Just write what comes to mind and you will be surprised how it shapes. An overworked Blitz would not gel.
