Passing Shadows
A kiss so fleeting as a fragrant scent.
From distance far, in silence lingers near.
A memory perhaps, that came and went.
A passing shadow that will disappear.
This remembrance where soft rose petals fell.
Not from sadness, rather time's unkind hand.
To leave a thought wistful an empty well,
When stillness ever quiet will demand.
A longing, or a moment relived, chased.
This melted candle with blackened wick cold.
Once a red flame rising when two embraced.
Now a web tangled in memories, old.
To find nostalgia on your mind's doorstep,
To open the door, a fleeting kiss kept.
