Parting Glass

Time never cease Change never stops Rules shall displease As life we plot And forever we depart Forgetting ourselves daily Once, twice we embrace the dark Thrice... yet a life barely Questions, I’m always to find Many with answers never found Little by little we exhaust with time As I watch per life to be bound That single glass I raise Parting my lips for perhaps the last Savoring for once the genuine taste Yet lasting never for flavors to past Is there that one more day? A time to once more be A someone to never yet stay A taste, a parting glass from me

Nice poem Joel. I like the symbolic element that the glass represents in this piece. The meaning is very strong.
