Parasol Dreams - For Contest

Parasol Dreams She had found it at the stony end of the beach, a Red Parasol. Its vivid color drew her eyes, its presence fired her imagination. She picked it up giggling and twirled the flaming red top above her head. Evening sun drew a picture of a tall, elegant, lady strolling along the shoreline, gentle salt breezes rippling her golden hair, silent footsteps floated upon foamy surf. She spoke quietly as she walked speaking of dreams, of love, of longings. As the sun set she looked back her lonely footprints succumbing to the tide, her shadow companion fading in the darkness. She left the Red Parasol at the rocky end of the beach hoping they would meet again of an evening. 6/8/2016 submitted to – The Red Parasol by Alfred Glendening – Poetry Contest sponsor – Eve Roper

Thanks Andrea, as always, for you support and comments. I'm a bit behind in my responses as our youngest son got married in mid June.
