Painting the Earth
When a rainbow is painted across the sky
And the colors are still not quite dry,
Any passing bird or butterfly
Will, with wings outspread, come too close
And be brushed upon with vibrant dose.
They will carry these hues away with them
To be spread to many a petal and stem,
The colors of which are reflected by
The vision which lingers in your eye.
