Paint Me Purple

Paint me purple I don’t wanna be blue Blue seems to sit back and mellow into the sadness I want to be purple with just enough passion left to fight I don’t want to sit and take it I still wanna feel Even the pain There’s an explosion about to take place I can feel it inside me Building It started with confusion knowing the answers But questioning the questions Then bled into extreme hurt Surely the answers aren’t true,,, hurt Which then led to sadness You knew better, everything inside you told you You Knew Better And you ignored the wisdom of your heart I must forgive myself and that’s the hardest to do But I will find my strength I will soothe my heart Add more red to my purple Then fight Dedicated to Ms. Free Verse January 2009

Like the Amethyst which the Romans considered the stone of sobriety, purple has always been held in high esteem as a very spiritual color ... don't know about all that but I for one wear it all the time. Like the book of verse called "When I Am An Old Woman I Shall Wear Purple" the color now fits me to a tee. LOL ... thanks so much for your comments and if I haven't said it already, Welcome to PoetrySoup, Laurie.

Sounds unblue and true to me honey..Purple is the color of royalty...or so they say..Both of the breeders cup jackets with Churchill Downs sponsorship were purple, I had the 1988 one when I ponied a horse in the Derby that year, and I also ponied a horse named Dr. Bizzare in the 2 year olds breeders cup. I received a free purple breeders cup jacket that year. I ended up giving it away to a friend. I love your poem. Lawrence in Lou. Ky.
