Pain Unexpectedly

If those who are so mean to me Were to pass unexpectedly Would happiness come to me? Would the pain and humiliation go away? Would love and gentleness find its way, To fill my soul to remove the grey? Or would hurt and anger keeps it place Inside my heart and on my face Keeping me from love's kind embrace Pain comes unexpectedly Overwhelming and enveloping me Uninvited and slow to leave pain steals all my energy
