Other World

OTHER WORLD When I think back to Ellen - Long forgotten by relatives or acquaintances - Through my mind book, Peeling back the layers Of dead people’s memories, People pleading to be remembered To be partly immortal, I think maybe I am the only one to have Disturbed her, asleep so long in that other world: For she is still, not dead, As long as I remember her. In moveless crowds they lie, waiting, Waiting as if for a ship, Which may never dock beside them, But still they wait. And when I disturb her, or another beside, They crowd around to listen to the conversation From the other world, Where people still remember. Each hopes to be disturbed some day By a memory gleaned From the layers peeled back in a mind book, Or by the arrival of the ship.

oooh, this one is kind of haunting, putting me in mind of people who are having seances or something like that. I really like this. Who was Ellen, anyway? So you are married to a foreign girl, huh? I bet that is fun! (love that ship metaphor by the way)

hey, that was a mouthful you said, but I am so glad you commented to me under my poem and not under YOURS because a lot of people are doing that today and I do not even know they are replying to me. Why would I go back to their poem after I already saw it? I think that new reply option is so lame. Let me read this poem now.

Ahhh I'm not even sure I wish it were so? To maintain an old used or misused ego into the Great Light to refuse to disperse but maintain cohesion begging and infantile in ones need, take my bits and call me Maddy send me to a foreign shore one on which I've never stepped; don't hold me here with memory for I have tried my best. XXXX Light & Love to you & T
