One of my favourite sea creatures. Like many, the caring they have for their young is immeasurable. Koolio Haiku Phyllis....:)

They don't call them "killer whales" for nothing. Great haiku. Quite descriptive.

Phyllis, I actually had some field mice living in my dryer vent and one lived under the hood of my car. The traps I set didn't work but I found "sticky pads" and when the pads disappeared, so did the mice. I had images of them using the pads to "ski" down my driveway. Sweetie, I'm updating my list of fave poets before I move and want to be sure you're on there. I appreciate all of the kind comments you have left for me and really enjoy your poetry! Love, Carolyn

Interesting analogy. Much captured in just three lines. Keep on writing. Thank you for your kind words on my poem. Karen

Nice Haiku Phyllis. I have had the pleasure of watching Orcas in Alaska; they are gentle families, much like wolves.

Oh, to see the orcas hunting, Phyllis. Have never had the pleasure of seeing whales at sea and I didn't know orcas were known "as wolves of the sea." Great image in your haiku! Love, Carolyn

Good luck in the contest with this great Haiku..They look so innocent and lovely one of God's beautiful creatures that still have to have meat to live...Enjoyed your work today ...Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my work...I don't envy you the cold, ice, and snow of winter...Having to bundle in many layers for warmth but to have a cooler and dryer air summer would be great..Sara
