Onions of Worship
We understood to what extent
our fights stemmed only from differences,
when underneath us lay a deeper sameness.
We understood to what extent
we avoided being judged as unhappy
by dressing up in cheery personalities,
smiling and shining,
shimmering,
dancing in the wind,
before we got caught in a
hurricane of hurt.
Now we shed these tired and heavy layers
whose sole purpose
is to derive conflict and give 'proof',
that everyone is out to get us,
that we have no need
or desire
or willingness
to see through the fog of separate identities
to the reality of Oneness
we have always been.
