One Mermaid's Lesson

A merman had one stubborn daughter who rebelled against what her dad taught her. When she swam to dry land, she could then understand she was just like a fish - out of water! For the Out of Water Poetry Contest of Sheri Fresonke Harper

A very nice poem where a great teaching is there. what is to be done according to capacity that should be done where the matter of possibility and impossibility are to be judged beforehand. A nice philosophy too. i feel 7 here. Good luck in the contest. Loved always, my lovely friend,bl

Great limerick! I didn't know that there were mermen too...why don't we ever hear of them enticing women sailors?

yep, there be mermen, MOnterey. Google that word and check out the tight abs on one of those babes!! I guess the male of the species is a lot more shy. That's why they don't appear to incite us ladies!!

Andrea dear poet.....I am so glad (not really) that I had no daughters ! Wowzers ! I most certainly would have had heart problems. When I left home at seventeen, my sisters told me years later, that them and the boys in our neighborhood had a huge party......a thank God james left party ! ;) (over protective brother of six sisters) Great write Andrea.
