One Day

One day I will not be here for you to depend on. One day you will have to think for yourself. One day you will have to find your own food. One day you will have to cook your own food. One day you will have to clean your on clothes. One day you will have your own home. One day you will have to clean your own home. One day you will have to pay your own bills. One day you will know the panic I have felt the night I couldn't find you. One day you will feel the pride as you finished school. One day you will have a wife to love and care for and respect. One day you will have your own son. One day you will have a son just like you. One day you will know the love I have for you. One day you will understand it wasn't really my choice to be at work and not at home with you. One day you will teach your son the things I have taught you. One day I pray I will be here to see you accomplish all these things. One day I can tell you how proud I am of you that you have grown into such a wonderful man who can care for his family. Dear son one day is here and you are on your own.
