Once Upon a Wayward Moon
Once upon a wayward moon,
the dreamer rides without cars.
Secured by a string on my lunar swing,
on my way back to Mars.
Because that red dot in the sky
always catches my eye
against this starry sea of black.
And the closest star
is much too far,
I just-- might not make it back.
My timing is right,
I was raised on starlight.
Nostalgia is
wrapped up in this tune.
I'm on a swing made for seven,
and I think we just passed heaven--
I've become overcome
by the radiance of the full lit moon.
