Once Upon a Time
I was an only child for eight lovely years,
it was all about me, then it happened;
the most terrible thing ever- my mom gave birth,
to a bouncing baby boy.
She came home from the hospital aglow, hugging
her bundle of joy and I took a good look,
honestly, I could not see the big deal;
he was all wrinkles, bald and he cried a lot too,
but . . . he started to laugh, smile, play;
and he blew bubbles to me- Oh sigh! I love him.
