Once In Decemeber
Once in December I remember
There was a bird perched outside my window.
I knew he was there because I could hear him
then one day that bird spoke to me.
I couldn't believe what I heard
it was so absurd.
I got in the car headed down the road
I was only doing what I was told
I reached my destination
only to find a tragic situation
It took me a bit, to gather my wits
After the shock it put me in
I only then begin to see why that bird approached me
the bird had told me that my sister was dead
Only to prepare me for what was ahead
The unimaginable had happen
and there was nothing I could do
but cry, and ask why
That bird no longer sits outside my window
his call is no longer heard.
