Oh Whiskey

Oh whiskey. Why have you come here tonight? What door was opened for you to enter? Leave! So I may not taste your cruel delight. As I quit. You will not be my mentor Strength is taken when you are my shaman. No healer are you, feasting on weekness. How do I heal when I'm preyed upon? And succumb to your evil cold bleakness. Go!With remorse, for I won't embrace you. I've no need to feel the emptiness you bring. A harlot to broken hearts, you witch's brew. The payment you ask is a costly thing. I rebuke you!I'll fight you alone. I'll measure my healing with time, I own contest Addictive Poetry Frederic Parker 8/21/14

Dear Frederic, The last relationship I had (and it will be the LAST ever) ended due to chronic abuse of whiskey. When a man is so out of it that he calls a woman by another name, it's time to leave. From the clarity of your writing I doubt this is a genuine addiction, but I do admire the thought as well as they way you wrote it! Love, Carolyn
