Ode To Rod & Kahlil

You two brought the joy: A prophet and chansonnier traveling along our *Stanyan Street with books of love in my hands. Delightfully moving me to write, and so I thank you. Thank you for Sloopy and Apartment 4-E, and Eating and Giving and Marriage and Children and Pain. Oh, thank you for the Pain. May I always *"Listen to the Warm" with *"A Tear and A Smile". ______________________________________ *Rod McKuen's - "Stanyan Street & Other Sorrows" (1954) and "Listen To The Warm" (1967) *Kahlil Gibran's - "The Prophet" (1923) and "A Tear & A Smile" (1950)
