Not So Much
Some say rain is a cloud that moist our days
Some say the storm is what keeps us poised in ways
Some say the puddle isn’t there
It’s only the splash you feel
Some say we can each walk on water
I prefer to wade through it
Some say trees are shelter
Others say they’re just out and about
Some say glory is priceless
Others say the price of glory is too much too raw
Some say we are built of unidentified characteristics
Others say we are just individuals flawed
I need you to get back to me
I need you to walk the weather away
I need you to comfort me when I have little to say
I need you to hither
And not be touched by tainted feathers
Am I asking too much today
I’m living off your misery
I’m due for a change in scenery soon
Some say the end is close
I say it’s never been further from us
I don’t mind it so much
