No Matter You Be Divine Part One
NO MATTER YOU BE DIVINE
(Part One)
By Roy Merritt
He was busy gettin’ dyin’ from the day he was born
Til the day they laid him in the grave
And he was always in a great big hurry
Cos’ he knew he could never be saved
And so in times of pain and sorrow
When the pressure was to much to bear
He’d be feelin’ lower than a snake’s belly
And ah pullin’ out his hair
So come down off that cross sweet Jesus
You’re wastin’ precious time
You’re stupid for bein’ there in the first place
No matter you be divine
It was times like that he’d start into to drinkin’
Suckin’ it from sun to sun
He’d get all riled up and mad at others
And soon ah reachin’ for his gun
Gosh darn it god he’d shout out loud
What’s the reason I’m in this place
Ah dwellin’ from pillar to post
And ah livin’ in total disgrace
So come down off that cross sweet Jesus
You’re wastin’ precious time
You’re stupid for bein’ there in the first place
No matter you be divine
Good grief boy do you think you’re special
God would come in retort
I likes ah messin’ with you dumb yokels
And I do it simply for sport
Where’d you get the stupid idea
That I ever gave ah damn
Humanity is my plaything
To keep you wonderin’ who I am
So come down off that cross sweet Jesus
You’re wastin’ precious time
You’re stupid for bein’ there in the first place
No matter you be divine
