Night Owl

Mysterious – you go by night You are a mistress of disguise. You hunt for prey in silent flight. Mysterious – you go by night With ease of stealth avoiding sight You stare wide-eyed: dreamy or wise? Mysterious – you go by night You are a mistress of disguise. ------------------------------------------- 5th August 2014 Contest: Night Owl Sponsor: Kelly Deschler Placing: 1st

Glad you like my owl triolet, Upma. Yes, owls are lovely creatures, even if we attribute to them adjectives that they do not really merit. [nothing to be sorry about...we all have things and priorities to see to:)] hugs // paul

You have painted a most seductive "night owl" so poetically, Paul...My fav part of this entry is the simple usage of repetition! Great job for the contest! Did you visit my Owl? I can't remember. :)

Thank you for taking a good look into my poem, Gwen; I appreciate that. Yes, repetition is the pivot of this form of poetry. To be honest, I had not as yet visited your owl poem, but have now made it a point to do so. [pls. see comments posted there:)] // paul

Ran out of comment space, but want you to know I rated this a 7, and from reading your verse for the last while, I have decided to elect you to my short list of favorite poet. The list is under 20 long. also, I hate to ASS-u-ME, but from your picture can see you have me by a couple years of wisdom, I truly respect ANY time a genuine elder of mine reaches down to provide guidance and praise, KEEP UP YOUR SPIRIT. I AM seeing just how much it takes to be a top community builder. YOU WORK HARD! Sir

......honoured to be on your short fav list; glad you like this short contribution of mine. No doubt...I AM your elder. Use 13 to work out the age:) I am a very busy man, but I try to find time for all I want to do...and yes, it is hard work. It's not just reading and commenting....it's the work behind the scenes that gives real satisfaction and added friendship. cu Robo. // paul

At first glance, I just knew this poem was about me &my Up all night sleep all day, life of a writer. Then, upon further examination, I read "mistress" then received 100% verification that indeed, it was written for me, and my feminine side! HA. Gotchya! Hey this is one helluva form approached, regardless of form, a magical poem of much slick guise and gall, Also, poet, I firmly respect your unjust adulation for the poem I ripped from the creative wellspring. I deserve No Praise:) but thank you!

Good morning Robo! (10.20am here in Malta)! Like you I seem to have become a sort of night owl lately, but still manage to get up early. Like your sense of humour! I mean every word I say when I comment...so if you get praise it's all yours.....

Not everybody likes owls, but that goes for other creatures, as well. Owls are often related to wisdom or ill-omen. My owl is just a mysterious one! God bless and take care Lucilla. // paul

I enter contests for the sheer challenge Paul - I particularly enjoy Nette's and always try my best to please her, but some I find too restrictive and one new one is so off putting I wouldn't even attempt it:-( Keep on posting my friend - maybe we can do a collaboration in October when I visit - that would be a challenge for us both!!!
