Night Fall

When the night fell Billions were injured A million lonely hearts Crushed under debris of stars A thousand loveless lovers Damaged by Saturn and Mars Casualty’s wondered Scared and forlorn in dark Cry’s muffled only by a blanket Of sky Hearts were breaking Old wounds reopened form the impact Though not all were injured and distressed Couples got together For the occasion Exited and undressed Feasting on the fireworks Floating on the clouds Bathing by the light Of the silvery moon Until the day broke And all to soon The sun rose Given the new light on the situation The dying recovered Their beds Thankful night had passed Patched up the wounds And silently dreaded Time moving to fast Because to the lonely and alone Every night Is like the sky falling in Stars are great company only if you have someone To catch them with And the moon just another reminder That night has come And again out-stretched on my bed There is far to much room for one.
