Nice Family Car On the Highway

It's early morning and a message just came in... Reached out for my phone without a pause to think... Turns out to be a video clip of a white family saloon car.. Somewhere, some place on some undetermined highway.. This white car was moving rather sedately among a few big trucks.. When on his left, a relatively big gap opened between 2 heavy trucks... The driver of this white family saloon car deftly and smoothly switched lanes... So the video shows him and his car moving along now in the slow lane.. Nothing to it, this is a scenario repeated a thousand times over.. Here, there, everywhere, a picture perfect of a car moving between 2 trucks... But tragedy struck, incongrously and most innocently, without a warning.. Picture this, a white family car, sandwiched between 2 trucks, sedately cruising.... Suddenly red flashing lights ahead, the truck in front slammed hard at its brakes... Quick in response, the family car too braked to a stop, at a safe distance away... But horrors unimaginable, the heavy truck behind, weaved and wobbled... As the driver too slammed his brakes upon seeing the family car stopped ahead.. In slow motion, ever so silent and relentless, the heavy truck continued its momentum... There was not enough distance, no space enough for the heavy truck to stop in turn... I winced and imagined, the horror and desperation of the truck driver in a time warp... Knowing full well the heavy truck will inexorably slammed into that nice family car ... In a blink, that nice family car was no more, vanished in a mangled mess of bodies and metal... Grotesquely sandwiched and crushed between the 1st truck and the 2nd truck that failed to stall.. A lesson, most pertinent for all of us who drive each day, especially on a busy highway... Being sandwiched between two trucks is danger incarnate, none can foresee nor predict... The instant the leading truck stops, you quickly slammed your brakes to a successful stop.... But what guarantees that heavy truck behind you, tyres screeching in desperation will stop.. How can you know, that truck behind is too heavy to stop in time even as as you thank your lucky stars... Having stopped your nice family car, elated you have averted a crush to the front of your car... So this is a lesson you and I will do well to remember once you're on the road... Be wise and refrain from being sandwiched between moving cars or trucks on the roads... Be forewarned, drive safe and sound to that yonder destination...
