New Generation
New Generation
____________________________
Tell me exactly how you feel,
if can believe this is real
children telling parents what to do
cause the world told them to.
It's okay, do as they like
and you have to be polite
go to the corner, time out they say
what a game, in life we play.
When I was a kid back then,
we did as we should
and if talking didn't work
our butts got a spanking good.
That was my generation,
we learned how to repect
and now the world is upside down
and thinking their correct.
No wonder all the hope is gone,
and kids are dying or going to jail
cause had they learned the way I did
their futures wouldn't be like hell.
We were never hurt or abused,
maybe pride somewhat sore
but all the years looking back
it made me love them more.
Had I not learned the way I did,
I wouldn't be the way I am
I'd be one of the troubled kids
who just don't give a damn.
