Mystery
Dark is the night
When lights go out;
Eyes fail the sight,
Stray voices shout.
Darkness feels deep
When light is naught;
Sight goes to sleep,
Zero sums nought.
Darkness now spreads
A black blanket;
Hear fear and dread,
Cast straight jacket.
Darkness feels cold
As warmth departs;
Be just as bold,
Brave these dark parts.
Darkness speaks plain
To dare the brave;
Bear cold and rain,
For grace now saves.
Darkness comes veiled
Blacker than black;
Let sight prevail
Inner light crack.
Sense and then feel
Grand mystery:
Feel soul appeal
When eyes can't see.
