My Smile In Ink

I dip my smile in something of an illusion You know my heart as a book without pages Pinning your wings to the envy in my eyes My words bleed through your bandage This mirror tugging at your shadow An image chipped in black and white The edge of my memory follows you When petals fall hopeless from roses undead I'll see your false halo in ugly deception So iron your imperfections and bleach the stains white Carry an image for when yours melts away But until then I'll wish on a star and watch it drop from the sky Stare at the moon as it crumbles to my feet With a touch of my hand leaves will turn brown all beauty will die
