My Shield
My mask I wish to wear, my shield I have to bear,
My mask hides my face, my shield bears my tears,
My shield I carry in front of me, so other people's eyes I do not see.
My shield I carry high, to take the brunt of others laughs,
My mask can hide my sorrows, which I can't hold back, my body is forced to stand in front of
the class, so others can judge and view my words I speak, my shelter I want to enter, to get away and hide.
My mask I will wear, my shield I will hold up, so others can't see my faults, No I speak, so that I can be safe once again, my safe place is home, away from society.
