My Person

Ever since I can remember I have wanted my own person That special person that would be mine Who would want me to be their person We would not want to be anyone else's person I thought I had found my person Yet that was not to be I was left to wonder why What went wrong What was missing Was there something wrong with me I needed to look inside to see Continuing a journey Becoming myself Before I could find my special person I had to become Explore Understand Be My own person How else could I recognize When my person appeared to me Then that special day Like a vision she appeared My person My endless love She is my hand I am her glove My everything she's more than enough She accepts me as I am with all my stuff She is gentle when life is tough Created just for me The breath and air I breathe The one I patiently waited to receive My person, friend and lover who will not leave The completion of me She makes me truly believe That I am worthy to be Her person Her dream She is my person She is also her own She knows herself She is never alone For part of me is part of her Together we are more than what we were Yet the lines of self they do not blur They are amplified Redefined by the beauty Of finding Of being with My special Amazing Loving Spectacular Person

Damn Richard, this is an amazing poem of blessed companionship. A love and partnership made possiblie in part by having the bravery to know who you are and to like who you are, enabling you to give everything you can to your Lady. This is a handsome poem of two people being honest with themselves and making honest love together. An inspiring poem.

yes, you caught the essence of what it all means. You have to be your OWN person to realize this dream. VERY good message, Richard, and you got it right. That daydreamer was me as a teenager. I was an incorrigible dreamer, but how time has changed me!! btw, do you ever watch Grey's Anatomy? Meredith has a "person" and it's not even her husband but a girlfriend to whom she tells everything. I think a lot of girls are this way.

Nope don't watch Grays Anatomy, have seen a few times. There's the Asian lady I think her name is Yang, I find her character intriguing.

Thanks Brooke. We met in Puerto Vallarta 21 years ago this April. I was from Kitchener Ontario and she was from Vancouver. I knew after three days that she was the one and moved out west to be with her. Best move of my life.
