My Little Light

I had a little light, trying hard to shine. Getting married meant no longer all mine. Subdued and dimmed, fading fast. Broke free, at last. Now I feel it's glow, warming up my heart. It's so happy I'm so happy, let the good times start. When I'm in my power, my light is going to shine. Brace yourselves...or you might go blind!!

As always, thank you for your lovely comment Connie. Strangely, now that ten years have passed since our separation, the day before this placement I had thought to delete this poem among a purge of poems I plan which are about that man.

Blinded by someone else's release is a good retribution for misguided control. though the main thing remains the freedom. Congratulations on your win and many freedom wishes, Kai

http://biblehub.com/matthew/5-15.htm Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. I often thought of this while I was with my husband Kai. He covered mine with a bushel I felt. Thank you for your visit and kind comments.
