my little heart is heavy with its burden of unspoken words feelings needing expression are not allowed to be freed they remain in stately chambers pampered and spoiled to keep them complacent safe from rejection's rankle my little heart is heavy the weight is causing pain the chambers enlarged with unruly words tearing the place apart demanding voice the cajole as they roll this way and that pounding on doors my little heart is heavy perhaps it will burst and all will pour out without a doubt something will give way to another, I say and the tumbling torrent of torment will wash any chances away my little heart is heavy for just a few moments in the sweet silence of sympathy help carry it, for you see my little heart has become too heavy for me Eileen Manassian

To carry another's heart is to carry your own Eileen. Your pulses continue to carry a most enchanting panache Poetess. You're smart and sexy even when sad...J.A.B.

it takes such strength to keep the words shut in the heart and more strength to carry the burden and much more strength to write it out...my hand is out, hold it for a minute, let's go stare at the gushing river or the silent stars surrounding the moon....I hope you're doing well, best wishes.

Your voice matters, Eileen. Sympathy is a beautiful thing, and we all must practice it to uplift each other up during dark, emotional times of our physical lives. Thanks for sharing. It is always a blessing reading your work..always, Laura

Dear Eileen, it is in sharing that the weight can become lighter. Poetry allows you to do that more than anything else. I know that stigmas, customs and traditions can be a stumbling block, but we have to rise above fear and cruel tongues...life is to short! Hugs // paul

Let me take your heart out for a vacation, I will let it slide down colorful rainbows, I will let it swim in the azul blue sea, I will take it up in hot air balloon to see natures vista's below, then I will take it out for cake and coffee, but dont worry, its diet cake!!!! Hugs!!!!

Thank you, Eve. That is sage advice. I often write my little heart out. :) This poem came to me when I thought of how there is so much that we sometimes keep hidden for fear of rejection...or simply because we know that our words won't make a difference anyway. This poem speaks to that. Sending hugs your way.

This poem really tears at my heart, which I always felt was strong until recently. I can relate to this so well. You did a beautiful job with this.

Hello, Sunshine. I am not in a bad place. :) I am happy, but the truth of the poem endures. There are things that only God knows and sees. Thank you for the visit. Hugs

Yes, Eileen. At times they do tend to weigh one down. Sadly I can relate to this poem too well. Nicely penned!

Thank you, Daniel. Never feel bad for being a person filled with empathy. It is often our brokeness which enables us to be the most effective healers of others. Blessings.
