My Last Match

Before God, I stood in total awe that day. Thoughts racing, searching my broken heart, for proper things to say. Words, that to God, might relay what I was feeling. While unaware that He could see, beyond my outer peeling. No more facade or words to parse, but speaking from the heart. Knowing not where it would lead me, only that I had to start. Sin, like cataracts, had scaled my eyes; rendered blind, I could not see. I had given no space to Jesus, or had thoughts of Calvary. With the last match in my book, God, had set my fields aflame. Forthwith bringing me to a place in life, where in a different manner I'd use His name. Now, with each day's birth, in prayer I look to him. Praising Him for goodness and mercy, and my cup filled to the brim.
