My Heart Is Yours My Love Now Forever

Author's Note: This descriptive love poem, "My Heart is Yours My Love Now Forever," is rendered in the Villanelle poetic format and is set in Iambic Pentameter. This poem is a tribute in and of itself to the power, emotion, and passion shared by a man and a woman as they seek an understanding of their love on Earth, and on a spiritual plane as their spirits will one day ascend to Heaven's eventual glory destined to be two spirits together with one eternal soul. This highlights further the theme of the "oneness of love" that two people can share together in this life and later in eternity. (Gary Bateman - July 16, 2015) (Villanelle)

My Heart is Yours My Love Now Forever My heart is yours my love now forever, As your fiery passion enchants my soul. I shall with such love desert you never. Our life is now filled with joy and pleasure, As we share life with so much to extol. My heart is yours my love now forever. The desire we share is Earth’s great treasure, Making our souls one—a heavenly goal. I shall with such love desert you never. Our love knows no bounds of passion ever, As we follow God’s plan and pledge so bold. My heart is yours my love now forever. Your beauty my love brings me such pleasure, Knowing its worth exceeds all Heaven’s gold. I shall with such love desert you never. Our love as one is a grand endeavor, In God’s light as two spirits with one soul. My heart is yours my love now forever. I shall with such love desert you never. Gary hallooo!! VILLanelle is one of my fave forms.. ive tried it how many times anf one is done with p. CALLus which is internal rhymes are added to take villanelle in another level.. you did grear here!! Your pen is as vulnerable and lovable as your heart!! Hello Jan!! Thanks for your note and read here. Glad you liked this write, and thanks for the "7." This Villanelle is actually my second one. (My first one "A Broken Heart" was posted on PS on Nov 14, 2014 and appears in my recently published book as well.) This one seemed easier for me to do after doing the first one. I'm still learning and experimenting too. I plan to do a Terzanelle and a Pantoum in the near future. I think the type of theme one chooses plays a factor in the ease of developing the more difficult formatted writes. Best Always, Gary

Hello Anna-Marie!! I'm glad you enjoyed this Villanelle. These writes are always fun to put together. I thought the theme I approached to was quite appropriate. (I always write author's notes and actually keep them on a separate software program. They are a great source for review. Since I recently published my first book of poetry on April 9th: "Conversations with My Muse," the notes kept separately serve as my audit trail for everything I write, to include short stories.)
