My Frienemy

Don't forget to kiss me before you leave. We sit for minutes only because you have to move on soon. You come and go so easily. Your life is fast paced. It waits on no one not even you. You smile trying to pass it on to me but it's hard for me to grasp it because I know what happens. You come around, I get comfortable, and in an instant you disappear. It's not fair. I've learned to cope with the little moments, the little times, the little things. I've been able to handle you while you last, while you are here. You giggle as you start to fade away though you know to me it isn't a game. I beg you to stay even when I understand you have no control over the in betweens and such. I'm saddened so you cheer me up by promising you'll come by next time. There's always a next time. Anticipated moments of the future shorter and shorter each passing.
