My Fondest Memory

I remember The smell of hay and apples on his breath The warm rough touch of his red mane against my skin I remember Touching his soft brown fur And looking into big brown eyes I remember The neigh he only had for me And his joyous dance when he saw me enter the barn I remember The day it was all taken away I remember The last hug goodbye And the last whisper I love you As i had to let him go I remember it all
