My Daily Bread

My daily bread:
Feeds my soul's hunger,
Quell the aches in my head,
Chase away the nightmares when I slumber,
Giving me sweet dreams instead.

My daily bread
Is a dough made of poetry
Flavoured with ink and lead,
It fills my pages uncontrollably
Now gone are the days when life wanted me dead.

I like the metaphor of poetry as your daily bread. I am a poet too and I feel like I am supposed to write about my feelings and write personal poems to let it all out with ink or lead on lined college rules paper or in a spiral notebook. I keep journals too.
